Manchester United goalkeeper Mary Earps has signed a new contract with the club which will keep her at The Leigh Sports Village until summer 2023 according to reports on The Red Devils’ official website.
The 27-year-old joined United in summer 2019 from German heavyweights VfL Wolfsburg and she has represented the club in every Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture which they have played.
Earps has kept 11 clean sheets in 29 league matches in total over the course of the last 18 months, emphasising the fact that she is one of the most consistent performing goalkeepers in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
With United boss Casey Stoney already putting down the foundations for next season, it has today been confirmed that Earps has agreed terms on a new two-year deal which will keep her at The Leigh Sports Village until the end of the 2022/2023 campaign.
Upon signing her new deal, Earps told United’s official media team “I’m delighted to extend my stay here; we’ve grown so much as a team in the last couple of years and that’s something I’m really looking forward to continuing.
“I always want to be in an environment that will challenge me, I have a hunger to learn and improve, and the staff here are brilliant in giving me the best opportunity to do that.
“This team is capable of big things; I want to be playing Champions League football and to be competing for trophies and I know that ambition is shared across the squad. There is nowhere else I would want to be playing my football.”
Earps joins Kirsty Hanson, Leah Galton and Hayley Ladd in signing a contract extension with United.
