Spurs’ North London derby meeting with Arsenal switched to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur’s North London derby meeting with Arsenal later this month has been moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the club have announced.

The pair were due to contest their Barclays FA Women’s Super League meeting at The Hive but it has now been confirmed that the game will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.┬áThe fixture will take place on Saturday 27 March and will kick-off at 3.30pm.

Last season’s fixture was also held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was played out in-front of a Barclays FA Women’s Super League record crowd of 38,262. Spurs held Arsenal for 66 minutes before their resistance was eventually broken. Kim Little scored the opening goal for The Gunners before Vivianne Miedema’s strike eight minutes from time sealed the win.

The two clubs have already met on three occasions this season. Arsenal defeated Spurs 4-0 in a Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie in September before Joe Montemurro’s side won 6-1 in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League a month later. Spurs managed a 2-2 draw in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup before going down 5-4 on penalty kicks.

The latest meeting between the two clubs will be televised with fans able to watch the match free of charge. Further details are to be provided in due course.
