Chelsea midfielder Jessie Fleming has been named the Canada Soccer Player of the Month for March.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful month of action with The Blues and her personal achievements have been ranked higher than those of her peers by Canada Soccer.
FA Women’s Super League Full-Time learnt of Fleming’s accolade via an official Canada Soccer press release earlier this evening.
Fleming featured in six out of seven games for Chelsea throughout March. Three of her outings came in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League while the midfielder played the full 90 minutes for The Blues as they retained the FA Women’s Continental League Cup. Fleming also made substitute appearances for Emma Hayes’ side against Atletico Madrid and VfL Wolfsburg in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The midfielder is the second consecutive Barclays FA Women’s Super League player to win the Canada Soccer Player of the Month award. Fleming picks the award up from Tottenham Hotspur defender Shelina Zadorsky who won the gong in February off the back of some strong performances at the 2021 SheBelieves Cup.
Both players have been named in Canada head coach Bev Priestman’s latest squad for the nation’s upcoming international friendly fixtures against Wales and England.
