Tottenham Hotspur forward Rosella Ayane has signed a new one-year contract at The Hive according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old Reading-born attacker has been with Spurs for the last two years after joining the club on the back of a spell with Bristol City.
Ayane has impressed with Spurs this season, particularly since new head coach Rehanne Skinner arrived at the club. Eight of the player’s 10 Barclays FA Women’s Super League starts have come during Skinner’s tenure while her only league goal was scored in Spurs’ 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in December.
With Ayane having clearly made an impression upon Skinner, the Spurs boss has moved quickly to secure the forward’s services for another season while the North Londoners will also hold an option to extend the deal by a further year.
Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s official media team after signing her new deal, Ayane said “I’m really excited. I’m really happy to be here and I want to help the club push on and achieve their targets.
“The club are in a very ambitious place at the moment, they want to push on with certain things and that suited me personally with my career.
“Hopefully, myself and the club can go side-by-side and push on to bigger and better things.”
Ayane follows Canadian international defender Shelina Zadorsky in extending her contract at The Hive.
