Manchester United boss Casey Stoney will take charge of The Red Devils for one final time when they face FA Women’s Championship club Leicester City in the fifth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup at The Leigh Sports Village on Sunday.
Stoney resigned from her position on Thursday and this weekend’s tie against Leicester City will therefore be her final involvement with the club.
Manchester United go into the match without a number of players who are suffering from long term injuries. Tobin Heath, Ivana Fuso, Alessia Russo and Hayley Ladd will all again be missing from the side. Lauren James has been out injured for the last month and she is unlikely to make what could be her farewell appearance should the transfer speculation linking her with a move to Chelsea be correct.
Leicester City manager Jonathan Morgan goes into the match without the services of midfielder Charlie Devlin who has an ankle injury. Attacker Paige Bailey-Gayle remains sidelined with her long term injury.
After lifting the FA Women’s Championship trophy, Leicester City prepared for their trip to The Leigh Sports Village with a 2-1 friendly victory fourth tier side Southampton last weekend.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie between Manchester United and Leicester City is scheduled to kick-off at midday on Sunday and will be available for fans to watch live on MUTV.
