England international defender Grace Fisk had signed new two-year deal with West Ham United.
The 23-year-old centre-back has impressed for The Hammers this season, playing every minute of her side’s 22 games in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Fisk was set to be out of contract at the end of the season, however, it has today been confirmed that she has signed a new deal with West Ham United which will keep her in East London until summer 2023. The Hammers announced the news via their official club website earlier today.
The youngster started her senior career across the Thames at Millwall Lionesses. She then spent four years in America combining her football with her studies. While in the United States, Fisk represented both Penn State Nittany Lions and the South Carolina Gamecocks. She returned to England in December 2019 where she joined West Ham United.
After signing her new deal with The Hammers, Fisk told the club’s official media sources “I’m really happy to be extending my stay here at West Ham – I’m really excited for the upcoming season. There’s going to be a lot of changes, but that is also exciting and will improve the team for next season.
“One of the main reasons that I wanted to stay here is because I’ve had the opportunity to play week in week out – whoever the coach has been has put a lot of trust in me. The most important thing for me as a player in my development is that I’m playing regularly, so it was an easy decision to sign up for another two years.
“As long as I keep working hard and pushing on, as well as the club continuing to move forward then this will be the right decision.”
Fisk helped her side avoid relegation to the FA Women’s Championship this season. West Ham United recorded four clean sheets in their final six league games to achieve that goal.
