Everton are rumoured to be tracking the progress of Rosengard pair Nathalie Björn and Hanna Bennison according to reports by Swedish media outlet Footballskanalen.
Björn primarily operates as a full-back while Bennison plays in the heart of the midfield. Both players are Swedish internationals with Björn having collected 24 caps and Bennison having appeared for her country on seven occasions.
Reports in the Swedish media suggest that Everton are among a handful of clubs monitoring the progress of Björn and Bennison. Manager Willie Kirk is set to add as many as seven new players to his squad this summer, although no approach is believed to have been made for either player.
Björn and Bennison helped Rosengard to the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals this season while both players have a Swedish Damallsvenskan title under their belts. Defender Björn is thought to have a release clause in her contract and she is said to be keen to leave Rosengard while teammate Bennison is under contract for another year.
While the reports are just speculation at this stage, Everton have had some real success with their recruitment in Scandinavia. The Blue Girls signed Norwegian full-back Ingrid Moe Wold last summer while Danish pair Nicoline Sørensen and Rikke Sevecke were also recruited by manager Kirk. Moves for Björn and Bennison would come as no real surprise.
