Attacking midfielder Lily Agg has signed a new contract with London City Lionesses.
The 27-year-old Brighton-born midfielder has spent the last two seasons with The Pride after joining the club in 2019 following a spell with Charlton Athletic.
With goalkeeper Shae Yanez and winger Atlanta Primus having recently agreed new deals at Princes Park, it has today been confirmed that midfielder Agg has also signed new terms. London City Lionesses announced the news via their official club website.
Agg has been a key member of the London City Lionesses side this season. The player has featured in 18 of The Pride’s 20 matches in the FA Women’s Championship while she has scored two goals. Agg has been a driving force in the London City Lionesses midfield, her experience really benefitting what is a young side.
After signing her new deal, Agg said “I always want to push myself and play at the highest level, and pushing for the WSL is something that always crosses my mind.
“However, with Mel and Cori leading the way, they bring something special to London City Lionesses, and I believe with their vision, recruitment and work ethic, they can take this team to the top level and that is something I knew I wanted to be a part of.”
London City Lionesses ended the 2020/2021 campaign in sixth position but some solid foundations, combined with some strong summer signings, should help push the club up the table next term.
