Scottish Women’s Premier League outfit Rangers have completed the signing of former Manchester United forward Jane Ross according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 31-year-old Scottish international joins The Gers on a free transfer after recently leaving Manchester United upon the expiry of her contract.
Ross spent two years as a Manchester United player, helping the club to adjust to life in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League following their promotion in 2019. The forward netted three goals in 33 Barclays FA Women’s Super League appearances for The Red Devils.
Speaking after joining Rangers, Ross said “I am excited to be here and looking forward to getting started.
“Rangers are a team who are growing and improving every season so for me growing up as a Rangers supporter it was an easy decision.
“Having played down south for a number of years now, professionalism is something I value and it is great to see a club like Rangers go to that level and the league in general is continuing to grow and improve.”
Ross returns north of the border for the first time in almost a decade when she turned out for Glasgow City. The player has since enjoyed a spell with Swedish club Vittsjö while she has also spent time with Manchester City and West Ham United. Ross was a domestic treble winner with Manchester City in what was a fruitful two-and-a-half-year stay at The Academy Stadium.
