FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands club Solihull Moors have completed the signing of Coventry United goalkeeper Jodie Whiteman on a loan deal for the coming season.
The teenager moves to The Moors after recently signing her first professional terms with parent club Coventry United. The arrangement should give Whiteman the opportunity to get some first team games under her belt.
Solihull Moors confirmed the deal in a post on their official club Twitter account this evening.

Manager David Healey: “Thanks to @JayBradford91 & @CovUnitedLFC for trusting us with Jodie for another season. Jodie is a credit to Coventry & in my opinion the best GK at this level. It’s a privilege to be part of her journey.” pic.twitter.com/fUmYLlpwpp

Whiteman was handed a first team shirt by Coventry United boss Jay Bradford last summer after impressing in the club’s development team. The youngster worked with veteran goalkeeper Sue Wood and Welsh international Olivia Clark in her first season as a senior player at the Butts Park Arena.
Despite the fact that Wood has left Coventry United this summer after deciding to retire, manager Bradford has opted to bring in a further goalkeeper in Lucy Thomas, meaning that Whiteman may have again been restricted to the bench had she not gone out on loan.
Whiteman made her senior debut for Coventry United in the club’s 5-2 FA Women’s Continental League Cup defeat at Durham last season. The player came off the bench to play the final 18 minutes at Maiden Castle in a group fixture.
