Bristol City full-back Allen signs new deal

Bristol City full-back Flo Allen has signed a new contract with the club according to reports on The Robins’ official website.

The 21-year-old Norwich-born defender has been on the club’s books for the last five years and she will now help Bristol City push for an immediate promotion back to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League after signing a new deal.

Allen was an important member of the Bristol City squad last season. The player made 16 appearances for the club as they dropped through the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s relegation trapdoor. Allen could play an equally important role for The Robins this term under new interim head coach Lauren Smith.

After signing on again with Bristol City, Allen said “I’m delighted to have signed a new deal with Bristol City ahead of the new season.

“I’ve been at the club for a long time now having joined as a 16-year-old and it holds a special place in my heart. Despite a difficult couple of a seasons we’re in a good place to rebuild from in the Championship and I’m determined to help get this club back where it belongs.

“I’ve worked with Lauren (Smith) before so I’m excited to get to stuck in with pre-season and learn from her this campaign.”

Allen becomes the fifth player to sign a new contract with Bristol City this summer. She joins Abi Harrison, Maisy Collis, Izzy Cook and Jess Woolley in signing on again at the Bristol City High Performance Centre.
