London City Lionesses have continued their summer recruitment drive with the impressive addition of former Chelsea full-back Jamie-Lee Napier according to reports on The Pride’s official website.
The 21-year-old Scot left Kingsmeadow earlier this summer and she has now joined London City Lionesses on a free transfer.
Napier becomes London City Lionesses head coach Melissa Phillips’ fourth signing of the summer following the recent additions of Rianna Jarrett, Brooke Nunn and Amy Rodgers.
After signing for The Pride, Napier said “From speaking to Mel and some of the girls, I instantly knew straight away it was something I wanted to be a part of.
“The club has big ambitions, direction and values which matched my own. I’m really excited to challenge myself and kick on at this club.”
Primarily a left-back, Napier is equally as comfortable playing in midfield and pushing into the final third. London City Lionesses have listed the player as a midfielder, an early hint that head coach Phillips could use her attacking attributes this season.
Napier joined Chelsea in 2019 but struggled for game time with The Blues. The player was loaned out to Birmingham City last season where she played a significant role as the club avoided relegation.
