Liverpool forward Babajide loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion

Liverpool forward Rinsola Babajide has joined Brighton & Hove Albion on a loan deal for the entire 2021/2022 campaign according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.

The 23-year-old Londoner is thought to have been on Albion boss Hope Powell’s radar for some time and she has finally completed the capture of the forward.

Babajide has been on Liverpool’s books for the last three-and-a-half years. She has scored 10 goals in 45 league appearances for The Reds. It is thought that the player wanted to leave Merseyside in January but a move did not materialise.

After securing Babajide’s services for the coming season, Albion boss Powell said “Rinsola will be a great addition to our squad and we’re delighted she is coming to Brighton.

“She is very quick with an eye for goal, and I think she is a player with a lot to offer. She’s also very ambitious, she wants to play for England and play at the highest level and we hope we can help her achieve her potential.”

Babajide has featured for England up to Under-21 level. The player has recently been on the fringes of the senior squad selection and Babajide’s move to her new club could really help boost her long term prospects with the Lionesses.

The forward becomes Albion boss Powell’s second signing of the summer.
