Watford have completed the signing of midfielder Jenna Legg on a free transfer according to reports on The Golden Girls’ official website.
The 24-year-old moves to the Hertfordshire club after being released by former side Charlton Athletic at the end of last season.
Legg made 20 appearances for The Addicks in the FA Women’s Championship over the course of two seasons. The player can also count Chelsea, Oxford United and Brighton & Hove Albion as her former clubs.
After securing Legg’s services, Watford boss Clinton Lancaster said “Jenna is an excellent central midfielder who will certainly help us defensively. She’s a really good defensive midfielder but has the ability to get forward.
“Her range of passing is outstanding and she communicates well to her teammates. She’ll add a lot of composure for someone so young in the middle of the park and I can see her linking up well with our forwards.”
Legg graduated from Chelsea’s Centre of Excellence into their senior squad for the 2016 FA Women’s Super League 1 season. The player struggled for first team opportunities with The Blues and she was loaned to second tier club Oxford United. The player joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2017, helping the club to achieve Tier One status and then stabilise at that level before moving to latest club Charlton Athletic.
