Former Juventus midfielder Galli joins Everton

Everton have completed the signing of former Juventus midfielder Aurora Galli on a two-year deal with the option of a further year according to reports on The Blue Girls’ official website.

The 24-year-old moves to Walton Hall Park on a free transfer after leaving former club Juventus at the end of last season. Galli is the first Italian to ever play for a Barclays FA Women’s Super League club.

The midfielder has spent the last four years with Juventus, helping the club to lift four Serie A Women’s titles, the Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italianas.

After completing her move to Everton, Galli said “I’m really happy to be here. I’m looking forward to the start of the season and getting to know the girls, the staff and this Club.

“This is an important move for me. It’s the first time I have moved away from my country. I want to help this Club and my teammates achieve something. This league is very important, the competitiveness is really high. I want to learn from the league, my teammates and the manager to become a better player.”

Galli has played UEFA Women’s Champions League football with three of her five clubs. She first played in the competition with Torres Calcio in 2013 before later going on to feature for Hellas Verona and Juventus. Her European experience will be a real benefit to Everton who are aiming to secure UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification themselves in the future.

The midfielder becomes Everton boss Willie Kirk’s seventh summer signing.
