Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of forward Chioma Ubogagu on a two-year deal according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 28-year-old Londoner joins Spurs following a spell in the Spanish top flight with Real Madrid. Ubogagu joined the Spaniards in their previous form of CD Tacon before transferring to the Real Madrid club last summer.
Ubogagu made 11 appearances for Real Madrid last season in their debut campaign in the Spanish top flight while she scored two goals. The player will now return to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League for the first time since 2015 when she turned out for Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal.
After completing her move to Spurs, Ubogagu said “I’m really excited to join Spurs – it’s the club my late father supported, so for me to have the opportunity to put on the shirt is special and I can’t wait to get started.
“The WSL has always been a league full of top class players and I believe it becomes more competitive year after year, so it’s a league I’m really proud to return to. I’m a huge fan of the big strides that are being made to make the league more visible to fans around the world and with Spurs, we have a really exciting squad and project, which I’m very proud to be a part of.”
Ubogagu becomes Tottenham Hotspur head coach Rehanne Skinner’s sixth signing of the summer so far.
