Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Siri Worm has completed a move to Eintracht Frankfurt according to reports on the German club’s official website.
The 29-year-old spent two years with Spurs before being released by the club at the end of last season. The player made 23 appearances for the North Londoners in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, scoring three goals.
It has today been confirmed that Worm has joined FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt. The player has initially penned a two-year deal at the Stadion am Brentanobad.
Speaking after her move to Germany was confirmed, Worm said “I had two great years at Tottenham, but now it was time to take on the next challenge in my career. The FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga is a very strong league and Eintracht Frankfurt is an extremely ambitious club. I like the style that this team plays.
“The coaching team around Niko Arnautis (head coach) and all the players gave me a very warm welcome in the first few weeks that I was training and helped me to integrate quickly. I hope to help Eintracht with my experience.”
Worm spent the early years of her senior career back home in The Netherlands with FC Twente. After spending a decade with ‘The Girls of Twente’, the defender moved to England where she joined Everton. Worm was on Merseyside for two years before going on to help latest club Spurs to establish themselves in the English top flight.
