Sheffield United complete the signing of goalkeeper Wilson

Sheffield United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Nina Wilson.

The 22-year-old moves to The Technique Stadium on a free transfer after leaving former club London City Lionesses at the end of last season. The player will compete with first choice goalkeeper Fran Kitching for the number one jersey at Sheffield United this season.

Wilson joined former club London City Lionesses during the January transfer window. The player provided cover for Shae Yanez during her stay at Princes Park. Wilson was an unused substitute for The Pride on six occasions in the FA Women’s Championship.

The player’s move to Sheffield United was confirmed earlier today in an official press release issued by the club.

After completing her move to Sheffield United, Wilson said “I honestly couldn’t be any happier, I think it’s definitely the proudest moment of my career so far. The quality we have in the squad, it’s such an unreal opportunity for me to learn from all of them and I can’t wait to get going.”

Wilson becomes Sheffield United’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window. She joins Sophie Bradley-Auckland, Jess Clarke, Georgia Robert, Charlotte Newsham and Mia Enderby in moving to The Technique Stadium this summer.

The keeper could be involved for her new club when Sheffield United travel to Middlesbrough for a pre-season friendly on Sunday.
