Liverpool have completed the signing of former Blackburn Rovers forward Georgia Walters on a non-contract basis according to reports on The Reds’ official website.
The 28-year-old was without a club after being released by former side Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season.
Walters in understood to have impressed Liverpool boss Matt Beard during a trial spell with the club and she has been offered non-contract terms at Prenton Park.
After completing the signing of the forward, Liverpool boss Beard said “Georgia played in a number of our pre-season games and did well.
“She offers something different to the centre-forwards we’ve got at the club. She’s got a lot of experience as well and we’ll just see what happens from here.”
Walters has spent the last two seasons playing in the FA Women’s Championship with Blackburn Rovers. She made 20 appearances for the Lancashire club in the second tier while she netted three goals. The forward ended last season as Rovers’ joint-second highest goalscorer in the league.
Liverpool manager Beard is expected to include Walters in his squad as The Reds travel to Watford tomorrow. Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat to promotion rivals London City Lionesses.
