Four Barclays FA Women’s Super League players have been selected in the Dutch squad for their upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia New Zealand 2023 qualifiers which are scheduled to take place later this month.

The Orange Lionesses face the Czech Republic in Groningen on Friday 17 September before travelling to Reykjavík to take on Iceland on Tuesday 21 September.

The Dutch Football Association, the KNVB, announced new head coach Mark Parsons’ 24-player squad for the international double-header earlier today with players from four Barclays FA Women’s Super League clubs making the final cut. Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema is in the squad fresh from collecting her 100th senior international cap for the nation at the recent Olympic Games in Japan. Chelsea defender Aniek Nouwen has received a call-up along with Manchester United ace Jackie Groenen and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Inessa Kaagman.

While Miedema could collect her 101st and 102nd caps in the upcoming international window, midfielder Groenen could edge closer to her next appearance milestone with the midfielder currently on 71 caps. Chelsea defender Nouwen has made 16 appearances at senior level while Brighton & Hove Albion’s Kaagman has 11 caps.

The game against the Czech Republic will be new Dutch head coach Parsons’ first in charge with former boss Sarina Wiegman having recently taken up her new role with England.
