PREVIEW: Slavia Prague v Arsenal

Arsenal return to UEFA Women’s Champions League action on Thursday evening when they travel to the Czech Republic to take on Slavia Prague in the second leg of their Round 2 tie.

The Gunners lead 3-0 from the first leg thanks to goals from Nikita Parris, Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema and it would take a major collapse for Jonas Eidevall’s side not to be playing in this season’s group stage.

Slavia Prague bounced back from their first leg defeat with a 2-0 domestic victory over FC Viktoria Plzen at the weekend. That result ensured that Michal Kolomazník’s side’s winning start continued in this season’s Czech First Division.

Arsenal head coach Eidevall could opt to make changes to his side following Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Chelsea with The Gunners holding that significant first leg advantage. The likes of Lotte Wubben-Moy, Anna Patten and Nikita Parris will be hoping for recalls.

Eidevall is again expected to be without injured pair Viktoria Schnaderbeck and Jordan Nobbs while Noëlle Maritz is suspended. Malin Gut and Tobin Heath are not members of Arsenal’s UEFA Women’s Champions League squad list for this round. Danish defender Simone Boye Sørensen is understood to have picked up a knock and will not play.

Arsenal’s UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 2 second leg fixture against Slavia Prague kicks-off at 5.30pm on Thursday evening. Details of live streaming are yet to be released, however, the game could be shown live on arsenal.com.
