FEATURED: A century of goals – The lowdown on Arsenal forward Miedema’s goalscoring record

Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema made the headlines this evening as she netted her 100th goal for the club.

The 25-year-old netted a hat-trick for The Gunners in a 4-0 UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 2 second leg victory over Slavia Prague, those strikes being Miedema’s 98th, 99th and 100th for the North Londoners. It has been a fascinating journey for Miedema at Arsenal with the player having only joined the club in summer 2017.

FAWSL Full-Time have looked at some of the statistics behind Miedema’s goals for Arsenal and here are a selection of facts that you may not know about the player’s goalscoring achievements.

1,571 – Miedema has scored her 100th goal for The Gunners just 1,571 days after signing for the club.

1,412 – There are just 1,412 days between Miedema’s first goal in an Arsenal shirt, scored in a 2-0 win at Everton in October 2017, and her 100th.

22 – Miedema’s highest goal tally in a Barclays FA Women’s Super League season came in Arsenal’s 2018/2019 title-winning campaign when she netted on 22 occasions.

0 – None of the forward’s 100 goals have been scored from the penalty spot.

10 – Miedema’s 10-goal haul in the 2019/2020 UEFA Women’s Champions League saw the player end the tournament as the joint-top goalscorer.

0.94 – The striker has averaged 0.94 goals per game for Arsenal in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

3 – Slavia Prague is one of Miedema’s favourite opponents. She has netted three or more goals in three UEFA Women’s Champions League games against the Czech side (two hat-tricks and one quadruple).

6 – On 1 December 2019, Miedema netted six goals in Arsenal’s 11-1 victory over Bristol City at Meadow Park. She was involved in the first 10 goals before being substituted. The forward has scored 14 of her league goals against The Robins.
