Durham will be hoping to return to winning ways when Charlton Athletic are the visitors to Maiden Castle this afternoon.
The Wildcats fell to a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United last weekend and they will now face a Charlton Athletic side who are also aiming for promotion themselves this season.
Durham manager Lee Sanders has a tough decision to make on whether he names an unchanged side for a third consecutive match or whether he makes some subtle changes. Forward Iris Achterhof is pushing for a start after coming off the bench to score last weekend while the likes of Abby Holmes, Dee Bradley and Bridget Galloway will be hoping to be handed chances to impress.
Charlton Athletic have endured a disrupted start to the season with their opening game at Lewes postponed due to COVID-19. Head coach Karen Hills was able to name just 15 players in her squad for last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Coventry United. Vyan Sampson, Emma Follis, Lauren Bruton, Sophie Quirk, Lois Roche and Mia Ross were notable absentees from the squad and the condition of those players is unknown.
The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Durham and Charlton Athletic kicks-off at midday. Fans attending the match are able to pay on the turnstiles.
