PREVIEW: Juventus v Chelsea

Chelsea will be hoping to record their first victory in the UEFA Women’s Champions League’s group stage when they take on Juventus in Turin on Wednesday.

The Blues battled to a 3-3 draw with VfL Wolfsburg in their first group game at Kingsmeadow last week and manager Emma Hayes will now be hoping for a three-point return from her side’s fixture in Italy.

Juventus go into the match unbeaten in 19 games in all competitions while they became the first team to record 30 consecutive Serie A victories when they defeated Napoli 2-0 on Saturday. Head coach Joe Montemurro has virtually a fully-fit squad to select from for the club’s latest fixture against Chelsea with Swedish defender Linda Sembrant being the only absentee as she continues to recover from a long term injury.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes confirmed in her pre-match press conference that Norwegian international defender Maren Mjelde is back in training, however, she will not be fit to feature against Juventus. Forward Lauren James is also likely to remain sidelined with the former Manchester United star still not in a position to make her debut for her new club.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture between Juventus and Chelsea kicks-off at 8pm on Wednesday evening and will be available to stream live on DAZN.
