Chelsea will be hoping to take another step towards qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals when they face group minnows Servette FCCF at Kingsmeadow on Thursday evening.
The Blues currently top their group on seven points while they were emphatic 7-0 winners in the reverse fixture in Switzerland a week ago.
Chelsea boss Emma Hayes confirmed in her pre-match press conference that centre-back Aniek Nouwen and forward Pernille Harder remain sidelined with injury. The pair are not expected to feature for The Blues again until after the international break. Maren Mjelde and Lauren James are available for minutes.
Servette FCCF head coach Éric Sévérac could again offer a start to midfielder Sandy Maendly after she marked her recall with a brace against FC Basel in a 3-0 win at the weekend. Portuguese defender Monica Mendes has returned to fitness and is available for minutes but forward Marta Piero Giménez is out with the player continuing her recovery from appendicitis.
The UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture between Chelsea and Servette FCCF kicks-off at 8pm at Kingsmeadow on Thursday evening. Tickets are now on general sale and can be purchased by clicking here. Fans who are unable to attend the match can stream the action live on DAZN.
