PREVIEW: Reading v Chelsea

Chelsea will be hoping to continue their excellent form in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League when they travel to the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday to face Reading.

The Blues have won seven games on the spin in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League but they come up against a Reading side who have been in good form themselves of late.

Reading manager Kelly Chambers confirmed in her pre-match press conference that she has no new injury concerns to contend with. Deanna Cooper will not be fit to face her former club while Rachel Rowe is also out. Full-back Emma Mitchell recently gave birth and is likely to return to action next season.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes could opt to rotate her squad given her side’s recent hectic schedule and the fact that they face a crucial UEFA Women’s Champions League group match against VfL Wolfsburg in Germany next week. The Blues continue to be without Maren Mjelde and Lauren James with both players being carefully managed following their respective injuries.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Reading and Chelsea at the Select Car Leasing Stadium kicks-off at 11.30am on Saturday morning. Tickets for the match can be purchased by clicking here.
