Lydia Bedford will take charge of struggling Leicester City for the very first time when they travel to Meadow Park to face Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Arsenal on Sunday.
Bedford swapped England youth coaching for the stresses and strains of Barclays FA Women’s Super League management this week with the young coach filling the vacancy which was left by former boss Jonathan Morgan.
This weekend’s opponents Arsenal go into their latest match having suffered heavy back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and FC Barcelona. Head coach Jonas Eidevall will again be without the services of injured trio Malin Gut, Leah Williamson and Tobin Heath. The Gunners boss could opt to make some changes to his starting XI with forward Vivianne Miedema likely to return.
Leicester City make the trip to Boreham Wood without goalkeeper Kirstie Levell and forward Lachante Paul who continue their respective recoveries from recent surgery. Hannah Cain is out for the season while youngster Connie Scofield also remains sidelined.
The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Arsenal and Leicester City kicks-off at 6.45pm on Sunday evening and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football. Tickets for the match remain available by clicking here.
