PREVIEW: Arsenal v Manchester United

Arsenal and Manchester United will battle it out for a place in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup semi-finals when the pair contest their quarter-final tie at Meadow Park on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners are the competition’s most successful side of all time while opponents Manchester United are chasing that first major domestic trophy since their formation in 2018.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that defender Leah Williamson and forward Tobin Heath are both available for selection once again after returning to fitness. The Gunners could hand debuts to recent signings Stina Blackstenius and Laura Wienroither. Latest signing Rafaelle is not expected to be in the squad while Lia Wälti remains sidelined.

Manchester United go into the tie fresh from a 5-0 victory over Birmingham City at the weekend. Marc Skinner’s squad is in equally as good shape. Lucy Staniforth is set to be the only absentee with the player still recovering from a knock which she sustained in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Aston Villa before Christmas.

The FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-final tie between Arsenal and Manchester United kicks-off at 7.15pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain available and can be purchased online by clicking here.
