Leicester City have completed the signing of Middlesbrough midfielder Elysia Boddy on a short term deal according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 18-year-old has joined The Foxes on an arrangement which will initially run until the end of the season.
Boddy is a bright young player who has benefitted from playing senior football in the third tier with Boro. She will now look to impress Leicester City manager Lydia Bedford in a bid to get some top flight playing minutes under her belt.
The youngster can operate on the right of midfield or in a number 10 role. Boddy is a product of the Teeside Regional Talent Centre (RTC) and has been described as a tenacious tackler with a keen eye for goal.
After securing her move to The King Power Stadium, Boddy said “I’m over the moon, I think it was a step that I needed to take and it’s a great club with great facilities, so I’m really happy to be here.”
Boddy’s qualities are well-known to Leicester City boss Bedford with the player having represented England in the youth age groups. Bedford will be keen to mould the player’s talents to help her reach her full potential in the future.
