Conti Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester City now sold out

Tickets for the 2021/2022 FA Women’s Continental League Cup final have now sold out, The Football Association have confirmed.

Current holders Chelsea will face the competition’s second most successful club Manchester City in this year’s showpiece which will be staged at AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium. The tie takes place this Saturday with the game kicking-off at 5.15pm.

Ticket sales have been strong ever since the two clubs confirmed their places in the final last month and The Football Association have today issued an official press release confirming that the game is now a sell-out. The record crowd for an FA Women’s Continental League Cup final currently stands at 6,743 and there is a real chance that a new record could be set this weekend.

Speaking following today’s announcement, Kelly Simmons, Director of the Women’s Professional Game, said “I am absolutely thrilled that the final on Saturday is a sell-out and I have absolutely no doubt that the players will put on a world class display for those in attendance.

“If there was one thing I’d ask of fans, it’s that you turn up ready to make as much noise as possible so those following at home can hear you through their TV or radio. Let’s create an atmosphere that really adds to the spectacle.”

Saturday’s fixture sees Chelsea and Manchester City face each other in a domestic cup final for the very first time.
