Bristol City’s goal machine Harrison signs new deal

Bristol City forward Abi Harrison has signed a new contract with the club until the end of next season according to reports on The Robins’ official club website.

The 24-year-old Scotland international has been one of Bristol City’s most important players this season. Harrison has netted 12 league goals for the club, becoming their highest-ever league goalscorer in the process.

With Bristol City already thinking about a potential push for promotion next season, if they don’t achieve the feat this year, the club have moved quickly to secure the services of their top scorer.

After extending her contract at The Robins’ High Performance Centre, Harrison said “Every time I speak and whoever speaks to me knows how much I love it here. I enjoy the squad, the club and the city – I’m very happy to commit to Bristol City.

“It’s a striker’s job to score goals and I play with brilliant players, so that makes my job easier. I’m happy, I’m enjoying it and I have found my feet after a difficult couple of years.

“At the start of this season it was tough, a bit of rebuild of staff and players but Lauren’s (Smith) done a brilliant job and the team behind the team have made us fantastic.

“We go into every game believing we can win and we play exciting football. I think you’ll see that we enjoy it – we’ve got a great group and there is still so much we can do together.”

Harrison is the second player to sign a contract with Bristol City this week with youngster Naomi Layzell having also agreed terms.
