Bristol City have launched a unique attendance challenge for their women’s team and rugby union side Bristol Bears.
The club announced earlier today that the two teams have been paired together in a head-to-head battle in the quest to record the highest Ashton Gate attendance.
Bristol City Women will stage their FA Women’s Championship fixture against Liverpool in BS3 on Sunday 3 April while rugby union team Bristol Bears are also set to appear at Ashton Gate when they take on Harlequins on Saturday 7 May. Bristol City have already made a superb start to the unique contest by selling more than 2,000 tickets for their game.
Bristol City are making a late dash for promotion in the FA Women’s Championship and their fixture against Liverpool will be a ‘must-win’ game if the club continue their good form leading up to that match. Lauren Smith’s side are currently eight points adrift of The Reds but the season is far from over with Bristol City being in unstoppable form.
In rugby union, Bristol Bears are currently second in the Women’s Allianz Premier 15s table with two games remaining. The club have won 11 of their 16 games in the competition this year.
Tickets for the Ashton Gate events are on-sale via the Bristol Sport ticketing portal.
