Arsenal’s teenage defender Teyah Goldie will spend the vast majority of the remainder of the calendar year on the sidelines with the player having ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
The 17-year-old joined Watford from Arsenal on a dual registration basis until the end of the season in January and the youngster has been playing for The Golden Girls in the FA Women’s Championship. Goldie has made four second tier appearances for Watford since joining the club.
Goldie’s latest appearance in a Watford shirt came on Saturday evening when The Golden Girls faced Sheffield United in Kings Langley. The defender lasted just 34 minutes of the match before having to be replaced by Ryah Vyse. The youngster has this evening provided an update on her fitness via her personal Instagram account, confirming that she has ruptured her ACL.
Goldie first found her way into the senior squad at parent club Arsenal last season. The player made her senior debut for The Gunners in a 10-0 victory over Gillingham in last season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup. Goldie has made cameo appearances for Arsenal in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and UEFA Women’s Champions League in the first half of this season.
The teenager is now set to undergo a period of rehabilitation with the support of the Arsenal medical staff.
