PREVIEW: Everton v Leicester City

Everton will be bidding for a third consecutive win in all competitions when they face Leicester City at Walton Hall Park this evening.

The Blue Girls have recorded victories over Charlton Athletic in the fifth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup and against Aston Villa in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and there are signs that things are now finally coming together on Merseyside.

Everton’s interim manager Chris Roberts confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Swedish international defender Nathalie Björn and midfielder Grace Clinton will return to the squad after overcoming their recent injuries. Riikke Sevecke is still a little way off full fitness and will again miss out while Danish national team colleague Nicoline Sørensen remains sidelined.

Leicester City manager Lydia Bedford will welcome defender Ashleigh Plumptre back to the squad after she missed last weekend’s defeat at Manchester United while recent signing CJ Bott is pushing for her first start. Long term absentees Kirstie Levell, Hannah Cain and Lachante Paul remain sidelined.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Everton and Leicester City at Walton Hall Park is scheduled to kick-off at 5.30pm this evening. Tickets remain available and can be purchased by clicking here.
