PREVIEW: Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea will hope to move to the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table for the very first time this season when they face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are currently two points adrift of long-time league leaders Arsenal, however, they have a game in-hand which comes in the form of Rehanne Skinner’s well-drilled Spurs side.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes confirmed in her pre-match press conference that she has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of her side’s latest match. England international forward Fran Kirby remains the only absentee, Hayes advised that the player has been rested following a gruelling run of fixtures for club and country dating back to the Olympics.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Rehanne Skinner is expected to have a strong side at her disposal. The Lilywhites continue to be without forward Jess Naz who recently suffered an injury whilst on international duty with England. Fellow attacker Kit Graham is out for the season.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 7.45pm on Wednesday evening. No tickets will be on-sale at Kingsmeadow as a result of ongoing Government restrictions placed upon the the home club.
