Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ashleigh Neville has signed a new three-year deal with the club according to reports on Spurs’ official website.
The 28-year-old is regarded as one of Spurs’ most talented players and is one of the most consistent performers in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. Many have suggested that Neville is long-overdue an England call-up given the strength of her performances in a Spurs shirt.
With Neville being a key member of the Spurs squad, the club have moved to tie the player down for the long term. The defender has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at The Hive, a significant contract for a player in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
After signing her contract extension, Neville said “I’m super happy here – the girls, the coaching staff, the way we play, how far we’ve come in the last five years – the journey we’re on is something I want to be part of.
“Rehanne and the staff are great, we’re all on the same page. That’s what makes me want to be here even more, knowing that everyone is in it together.”
Neville was a member of the Spurs side which won promotion to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in 2018/2019. She has made the step up to the top flight exceptionally well, making 42 appearances for The Lilywhites in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and scoring four goals.
The player follows head coach Rehanne Skinner and forward Kit Graham in signing a new deal at Spurs this week.
