Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur – Stat Attack

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will finally contest their latest North London derby when the pair meet at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The two great rivals were initially set to meet in N7 at the end of March but a COVID-19 outbreak in the Spurs camp saw that game postponed.

Ahead of the rearranged fixture, FAWSL Full-Time have reviewed the statistics by Soccerway and here are four facts which relate to Wednesday’s meeting between Arsenal and Spurs.

Spurs ended losing streak in reverse fixture

Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal at The Hive back in November saw The Lilywhites collect their first point against The Gunners in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League at the fourth attempt. Rachel Williams fired Rehanne Skinner’s side ahead midway through the second half before Vivianne Miedema levelled for Arsenal in injury time.

Six in four for Miedema against Spurs

Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema has scored six goals in four Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches against Spurs. The player has scored in every single league meeting between the two clubs since Spurs were promoted to the top flight in 2019. The Dutch international netted a hat-trick in the same fixture last season as Arsenal won 6-1 in Boreham Wood.

Two teams with opposite recent records

Arsenal go into the latest North London derby on the back of six straight Barclays FA Women’s Super League wins. Meanwhile, Spurs’ form has dipped in recent weeks, Rehanne Skinner’s side are winless in their last six, taking two points from an available 18.

First WSL NLD at the Emirates

Spurs will travel to Arsenal for just the second time for a Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture on Wednesday evening and it will be the first North London derby to be staged at the Emirates Stadium. The two sides have twice met in league competition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Arsenal winning both of those matches.

The North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 7.15pm on Wednesday evening.
