Arsenal defender Noëlle Maritz has signed a new contract with the club according to reports on The Gunners’ official website.
The 26-year-old Swiss international has spent the last two years with The Gunners after joining the club from German side VfL Wolfsburg. The defender has gone on to make 49 appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions, scoring two goals.
Arsenal are busy putting down the foundations for next season and the club today announced news of Maritz’s new deal. In-line with club policy, Arsenal have not revealed the length of the player’s new contract.
After signing on again at the LV Bet Stadium, Maritz said “I’m really happy – it’s amazing. I think we have a really good group of girls and the staff is really good. I think everybody has the ambition to take it to the next level and the club is really pushing for it. Hopefully in the future we can make a big step in that direction.”
Maritz is the second player to sign a new contract with Arsenal this month with Australian international Steph Catley having also agreed fresh terms. Head coach Jonas Eidevall also committed his long term future to the North Londoners last week after an impressive first season in England.
