Blackburn Rovers defender Chelsey Jukes has left the Sir Tom Finney Stadium following the conclusion of the 2021/2022 season according to reports on the Lancashire club’s official website.
The 25-year-old has spent the last six years with Blackburn Rovers, making 37 appearances for the club in the FA Women’s Championship. The player has helped Gemma Donnelly’s side establish themselves in the second tier over the last three seasons.
Jukes’ greatest achievements in a Blackburn Rovers shirt arguably came in the early stages of her career with the club. She was an influential member of a team which won back-to-back FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division titles in 2017/2018 and 2018/2019. The defender has been both consistent and reliable in her time with Blackburn Rovers and she leaves the club with her name very much imprinted within their history.
Two players have now left Blackburn Rovers this summer. Midfielder Aimee Hodgson has also departed with the player having taken up the offer of a scholarship in the United States with Hofstra University. Goalkeeper Alex Brooks and defender Hannah Coan have both recently agreed new terms with the club for next season.
Blackburn Rovers ended the 2021/2022 campaign in tenth position in the FA Women’s Championship table, six points above the relegation zone.
