Eight players will leave Charlton Athletic this summer as their contracts at The Oakwood come to an end.
A number of clubs have released their exit lists in recent days with Charlton Athletic announcing the highest number of departures so far this summer in the elite game.
The Addicks released a player update via their official club website this morning which confirmed that Sophie Hillyerd, Rebecca Jane, Vyan Sampson, Hollie Olding, Jess King, Elisha Sulola, Megan Wynne and Elise Hughes are all moving on.
Midfielder Wynne and forward Hughes are the highest-profile departures with both of those players having featured in 19 of Charlton Athletic’s 22 matches in the FA Women’s Championship this season. Youngster Sulola and attacker King were also regularly used by head coach Karen Hills throughout the campaign. Jane, Sampson and Olding all made a handful of appearances for The Addicks while goalkeeper Hillyerd was an understudy to first choice stopper Eartha Cumings.
Charlton Athletic have just completed their first season as a full-time professional outfit. The club finished the campaign in fifth place and they will be keen to make further progress in 2022/2023.
The South East Londoners have confirmed that contract talks with a number of other players are ongoing.
