Sheffield United midfielder Cusack pens new deal

Sheffield United midfielder Maddy Cusack has signed a new contract with the club for the 2022/2023 season.

The Blades announced the news via an official club press release which was issued to FAWSL Full-Time earlier today.

The 26-year-old has represented Sheffield United in each of the four seasons which the club have spent in the elite game so far having joined The Blades from East Midlands side Leicester City in the January 2019 transfer window.

Cusack has very much provided Sheffield United with a midfield engine. The dynamic player has made 64 appearances for The Blades in the FA Women’s Championship in which she has scored one goal. Cusack featured in every league game for her club this season as Sheffield United ended the campaign in seventh place in the FA Women’s Championship table.

After signing on again with the South Yorkshire club, Cusack said “I’m really excited. I’ve loved my time at the club, every season I’ve really enjoyed it and the last one was no different. I’m really pleased to have extended my time here.

“It seems like yesterday I remember signing, but I’ve loved my time here and I love this club.”

Cusack follows forward Courtney Sweetman-Kirk in signing fresh terms with Sheffield United for 2022/2023.
