Full-back Ella Powell has agreed a new contract with FA Women’s Championship club Bristol City according to reports on The Robins’ official website.
The 22-year-old defender has just completed her first season with Bristol City and she has impressed head coach Lauren Smith enough to earn herself an extended stay at The Robins’ High Performance Centre.
It has been reported that Powell has signed on with The Robins for next season but the deal also includes the option of a further year.
Powell joined Bristol City last summer after leaving former club Charlton Athletic. The Welsh defender made 18 appearances for The Robins in the FA Women’s Championship this season.
After signing on again with Bristol City, Powell said “I’m very happy to sign a new deal here at Bristol City as it’s a great club and I have really enjoyed my first season in the West Country.
“Since arriving in the summer, I have felt like Bristol has become my second home. I’ve felt confident on the pitch, and it’s been great to work with Lauren (Smith) again – during my first year here I feel as though I have not only developed on the pitch as a player, but also off it as a person.
“I’m very excited for what’s to come next season as we have a fantastic group of players and staff, who have now got more experience under our belt and as a collective, we’re determined to make progress on last season.”
Powell joins Ffion Morgan and Lia Cataldo in signing on again with Bristol City in the last few days.
