Young defender Hack signs new deal at Lewes

Teenage defender Ellie Hack has signed a new deal with FA Women’s Championship club Lewes.

The 19-year-old has just completed her first season as a professional player with The Rookettes. Hack spent time with Lewes in 2020/2021 whilst on the books of Brighton & Hove Albion. The player then joined the Sussex club on a permanent arrangement last summer.

In her two seasons with Lewes, Hack has made 36 appearances for the club in the FA Women’s Championship, scoring two goals. After impressing at such a young age, Hack looks to have a very bright future in the game.

After signing on again at The Dripping Pan, Hack said “I’m happy to be staying at Lewes FC. The club’s respect and backing of women’s football is one of the reasons I have re-signed. They lead the way with equality and live the values.

“What also matters to me is the quality of the coaching, the training facilities and the player development planning.

“Having Kelly Lindsey as Head of Performance is great and now with the appointment of Scott Booth, who has won multiple league titles, I’m really excited for the new season.

“We’ll be playing on an amazing grass hybrid pitch this year too. Can’t wait to get started.”

Hack is the first Lewes player to sign terms for next season. The club are expected to announce a flurry of new deals in the coming days.
