Birmingham City forward Eleanor Ryan-Doyle has signed a new contract with the club for the upcoming season with the option of a further year.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Birmingham City.
The 22-year-old Dublin-born attacker joined the Blues from FAI Women’s National League club Peamount United last summer. Ryan-Doyle made 16 appearances for Birmingham City in all competitions last season in which she scored two goals, both of which came in the domestic cups.
Ryan-Doyle is a player who could develop further in the English game in the coming years and Birmingham City have shown their faith in the player by agreeing a new one-year deal with her. The Blues also hold the option to extend the arrangement to the summer of 2024 should the forward have a successful season in the Barclays Women’s Championship in 2022/2023.
Following a turbulent few close seasons at Birmingham City, things feel much more settled this year and the club look prepared for a promotion bid in the Barclays Women’s Championship. There is much work to do on the contract and recruitment front but the Blues are making progress and places in the squad are being nailed down.
Head coach Darren Carter and assistant Jo Potter are committed to getting things right which is music to the ears of the club’s long-suffering fans.
