Charlton Athletic defender Hannah Godfrey has signed a new one-year contract with the club for the upcoming season according to reports on The Addicks’ official club website.
The 24-year-old Scottish international centre-back joined the South East Londoners last summer. Godfrey made 15 appearances for Charlton Athletic in last season’s Barclays Women’s Championship as the club recorded a top half of the table finish.
Godfrey has brought great leadership qualities to the Charlton Athletic side and the club have moved to retain her services for another year.
After signing on again at The Oakwood, Godfrey said “I’m really happy and very excited for a big year ahead with the club. I think we can use last year to push on both individually and as a team.
“Every game, I am looking to go out there and give it my absolute best. My main goal is obviously to keep the clean sheets and that is something I take a lot of pride in. I will go out there, give it everything I can and hopefully help the team win.”
Godfrey is the sixth Charlton Athletic player to sign a new contract this summer. Lauren Bruton, Ella Rutherford, Mia Ross, Emma Follis and Beth Roe have also signed on again at The Oakwood.
