Arsenal centre-back Lotte Wubben-Moy has returned to the England squad after making a successful recovery from COVID-19.
The Football Association informed FAWSL Full-Time of the news via a squad update earlier this afternoon.
Wubben-Moy went into isolation late last week after testing positive for the virus. She was absent from the Lionesses squad which inflicted a huge 8-0 defeat on Norway at the Amex Stadium in Brighton on Monday evening. The player has now recorded negative tests and is therefore medically able to rejoin the group.
Providing that Wubben-Moy proves that she is fully-fit and healthy, there is a chance that the player could earn herself a recall to the England side when the Lionesses take on Northern Ireland in Southampton on Friday night. With Sarina Wiegman’s side having already qualified for the quarter-finals, it seems likely that the England boss could make a number of changes to her starting line-up which could mean Wubben-Moy coming in at the back.
Wubben-Moy made her senior debut for the Lionesses in an international friendly against the same opponents back in February 2021. The player has collected eight senior caps in her England career to date and she looks set to add many more in the years to come.
