Brighton & Hove Albion captain Williams pens new one-year deal

Brighton & Hove Albion captain Victoria Williams has signed a one-year contract extension with the club according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.

The 32-year-old centre-back has spent the last four seasons with the Sussex club, providing great reliability, stability and leadership at the back.

Williams has made 69 Barclays Women’s Super League appearances for Hope Powell’s side, scoring four goals. The player is very much a symbol of what Brighton & Hove Albion are all about and she has been instrumental in helping the club prosper in the English top flight.

After securing the player’s services for another year, Brighton & Hove Albion boss Powell said “Trev has played a big part in helping us establish ourselves in the WSL in the four years she has been here, so we’re delighted she will be part of the next stage of our journey.

“She is an inspirational figure on the pitch and off it, driving standards in games and training. I’m sure she will play a big part in helping us achieve our objectives this season.”

Williams is the third player to sign a new contract with Brighton & Hove Albion this summer. She follows Katie Startup and Kayleigh Green in signing on again at The People’s Pension Stadium.
