German international midfielder Ramona Petzelberger has completed the move to Tottenham Hotspur according to reports on the North Londoners’ official club website.
The 29-year-old Essen-born midfielder joins The Lilywhites on a free transfer after recently leaving former club Aston Villa at the end of her contract. Petzelberger has signed a two-year contract with Spurs.
Petzelberger arrives at her new club with plenty of experience under her belt. Her long career has seen her represent the likes of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, SGS Essen and latest club Aston Villa. In her two seasons with The Villans, the midfielder made 30 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she netted six goals.
After acquiring Petzelberger’s services for the next two years, Spurs head coach Rehanne Skinner said “It’s great to have Ramona on board. Her technical capability and creativity has been notable in the WSL over the last two seasons. She is a positive character that is committed to driving us forward as a team and her quality will certainly help elevate our midfield.”
Petzelberger has become the third signing of the summer transfer window at Spurs. She follows former Chelsea midfielder Drew Spence and former Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Ellie Brazil to North London.
