Lewes have completed the signing of former Eintracht Frankfurt forward Emily Kraft according to reports on The Rookettes’ official club website.
The 20-year-old came through the German club’s youth system and she went on to score three goals in 15 outings for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga last season.
In her youth, Kraft represented Germany at Under-15 and Under-16 levels before switching her allegiances to the Republic of Ireland in 2018. She has featured for The Girls in Green at Under-17 level while she collected her first senior cap for the nation in a friendly against Belgium in 2019.
After joining Lewes, Kraft will now be keen to show followers of the English game what she can do.
After completing her move to The Dripping Pan, Kraft said “It’s always been a dream to play in England. English football is amazing and I want to really grow here and develop. Scott (Booth) and Lewes have given me the chance and I really hope we can win the league. I thought ‘this is the right step for me’.”
Kraft becomes new Lewes manager Scott Booth’s first signing since he took charge at The Dripping Pan. The Rookettes’ squad is low on numbers so expect many more new signings before the start of the season.
