Former Arsenal teenager Flannery joins West Ham United

West Ham United have completed the signing of England youth international midfielder Keira Flannery according to reports on The Hammers’ official club website.

The 16-year-old moves to The Chigwell Construction Stadium after recently leaving former club Arsenal.

Flannery came through the North Londoners’ youth system but she never featured for the club at senior level. The youngster made 14 appearances for Arsenal in last season’s WSL Academy League while she contributed four goals. Flannery has plenty of raw talent and she could develop into a top player at senior level with the right opportunities. She will now hope to get some first team minutes with new club West Ham United.

After joining The Hammers, Flannery said “It’s a dream come true for me to join West Ham – the Club that I’ve supported all of my life.

“I want to be in and around the first-team picture, and when I came to have a look around the training ground in the summer, I just knew that this is where I wanted to play my football.

“As a player, I’d say I’m quite good technically – I can be quite feisty at times as well, but you’ve got to be as a West Ham supporter.

“I’m really looking forward to wearing the shirt and can’t wait to get started.”

Flannery has become the eighth new addition at West Ham United this summer.
